Boys..... you got to love em!!

A couple weeks ago I bought Brandon a bunch of new school clothes on my trip to Lubbock, when I got them home I realized that I got a lot of the wrong sizes. So last night we went back to Lubbock and Brandon was with us and I took him with me to return/exchange. When we got there I said "do you see anything you like?" He walked around for a second pointed to a whole Two outfits and when I got the right sizes he said "that's enough, can we go eat now?" Gosh I like that boy!

Ahston Farewell!

Last Sunday we Hosted a farewell open house for the Ashton family. It was well attended by all three wards in Midland. It was a lot of fun and turned out good but hard because I knew time was almost up and they would be moving to Keller soon. By the end of the night I was feeling really bummed - reality was starting to set in. But everybody had a good time and were able to say goodbye to our great friends.

Timari and I worked all day to prepare this wonderful spread of refreshments!!! Just kidding it was fun. We actually had a lot of food left over.

Summer is it really over?

So today is the first day of school. I feel kind of sad and gloom. (this is not suppose to happen) I should go shopping or something but I don't feel like it. I now officially have a 6th grader and a 10th grader. I don't know where time has gone but it's gone. I am sure in about one day I will snap out of this bit of loneliness. Here are the traditional "first day of school" photos. Everyone is happy now but that will end by tomorrow. Ryan's day starts at 5 am so he can go to seminary and he has a zero hour so school starts for him at 7:30. Brandon has to leave the house by 7:45. But he takes FOREVER to get ready so he has to get up at 6!!

I

I don't know where the summer went but here are some of the things we did with our time.

So Ryan attends the "Rebel muster" which is basically a day when they go enroll and get student id's and lockers and stuff like that. We finally made it to this day- big bad High Schooler!!! The Robert E. Lee Rebels!!! Go Rebels

Here's me and my friend Tami shopping in Vegas. We BREAK for outlet malls!!! Sorry about the double photos I am a computer blogging idiot. And I cant figure out how to get one off. UGH!!! Somebody please give me blogging lessons!!!

I spent a lot of time hanging out with the Young Women. We had a week long camp in June to Junction Texas (torture!!!) We attended Youth conference in San Angelo for weekend which was a lot of fun. And we had a weekend in Lubbock where we shopped, laughed, attended the temple and had a ton of fun.

We also said goodbye to 4 awesome Seniors who headed off to college ( I will miss them tons!!) And goodbye to one of our very few Beehives And good Friend who is moving this week. But we also have gotten 4 new Young women so it always changes and keeps things interesting. I lOVE IT!!!

Ryan spent a lot of time working on his Basketball game and going to the gym with me every morning. He hopes to make the High School team this year. He will play with who ever will play with him.

We spent some time swimming, but not as much as we usually do. My tan really stinks this year. I miss all my pool friends!!!

Why the boys were gone for a month I tried to finish my Disney scrapbooks. I hope to finish before we leave on our next cruise - 6 more weeks!

The boys were so excited to fly by themselves to Colorado and then Ryan flew on to Salt Lake City where he spent a week at BYU for EFY. As you can see Ryan still has trouble making friends.

Well that about says it all. Just another summer vacation that came to an end. I hope we all had a good time and made lots of memories.

#%@##**% TEENAGERS!!!

Let me just start by saying that I am way to young to be dealing with teenager stuff!!! I guess that's what I get for starting my family so young. So today a certain teenager of who has a job at Texas Roadhouse informed me that after talking to one of our friends who shall also remain nameless he decided to pick up on eating peoples left over table scraps. Yes serious!!! This friend informed him that he a job once as a youth doing the same thing and told him how he would eat peoples leftover food and how great it was. Thanks a lot D_ _ _!!! Any way so I naturally freaked out on him. And somehow he managed to turn it around on me that I am just an over reactor about everything. . I swear as I write this I think I could have a whole book on stuff he does like this I explained to him all the different diseses and possibilities that could come from him doing this. But this does not seem to matter to him. I swear there is something wrong with the male brain!!! First of all if you have seen him lately you know he is not starving. Second we actually have food in our house and he eats all he wants. (My grocery bill has like doubled over the summer with the boys home!) To prove it I have included a picture of my pantry so please don't feel sorry for him. I hope I scared him striaght but I will not hold my breath!!!

Last night we had a Young Women swim party at our neighborhood pool. We celebrated a birthday, and mostly just relaxed by the pool. It was great cuz we mostly had the whole place to ourselves. Although it was a little to cold for my taste. The hurricane weather is finally reaching us so it was cooler than it has been.

Youth Conference weekend

I was so fortunate to attend our yearly youth conference this past weekend. Ryan was also able to attend so I was able to keep my eyes on him. Here we are Saturday during a service project in the graveyard. We were recording all the grave sites. It was a big project for the United way and it turned out pretty good. I think we were on the news there . During the weekend we had a lot of fun, we left Thurs. afternoon and drove to San Angelo with the rest of our stake and the Abilene Stake. There were dances, activities, one very large game of the LIFE, workshops, service projects, testimony meeting and very little sleeping. Thanks to our very wonderful host family the Larsen's we were well accommodated when we did sleep.
I realized that this was my 6th Youth Conference in a row that I had attended and only my 2nd with Ryan. It was a great thing to be able to be there with him along with the Young Women. And thanks to my Friend Gillian for letting Brandon hang out with them on Friday!!

Brandons court of Honor!!

Last Wednesday night Brandon had a court of honor. He received his swimming merit badge. As you can tell he is so thrilled about putting his Scout shirt on. but he is thrilled about having one more merit badge down.
