Welcome Home George & Laura!

On Tuesday while everyone else was forced to watch all that "stuff" on T.V. we here in Midland had something a little more exciting to do. Our former President and first Lady Bush came home to Texas. Everyone was all a buzz about this exciting event and the schools decided to let out early. So my friend Timari and I decide to load up our kids and head downtown for this historical event.
What else would we see when we first get there other than Texas Rangers! And huge flags we had to stop for a great photo
Then we had to go get in a line that was about 30 minutes long. Although it was a little bit of a wait we saw some exciting stuff. There were a lot of friendly fireman and policeman on hand at every turn to take pictures with.

There were sharp shooters on every roof!
And A few secret Service, I think Midland was a little boring for the them.

And yet more Texas Rangers! When we finally got through the line we got as close to the front as we possibly could and Set in for the long wait for the Bush's arrival. But we had plenty of entertainment . Lee Greenwood, Rodney Atkins and Larry Gatlyn and his brothers all performed some great songs to help get the crowd excited. They performed these songs free for all 30,000 of us because they love the Bush's and the Bush's love them. Finally y they said President Bush wanted to a fly over on his way into Midland so we anticipated the fly over of Airforce One. It was awesome to see it fly over and see it that close up.
Rodney Atkins.

Air Force One!

President Bush gave a great speech and talked about his and Laura's Journey's the last 8 years. And what hey will do now. My favorite was when he said " I may not have always done what was popular but I did what I thought was right". And he said" When I get home tonight and look in the mirror I will be able to face who I see". I wish more people could live by those philosophies , I think the world would be a greater place. He also said even though they left Texas, Texas never left them. And there glad to be back home. (Can't say that I blame them it is pretty great here!)

Ryan and Brandon were almost too excited at certain moments!!

Thank you President Bush for serving our country and keeping us safe! God Bless America and God Bless Texas!!!

p.s. Sorry for the never ending post! If you made it this far thanks for reading! I think it took hours to do!!

Right after that we drove to Odessa where we watched Ryan play the Permian panthers. Don't wanna be one of those annoying moms but he had a awesome game. He was all over those panthers. He got several rebounds!! Go Runnin Rebels!!!!

Finally today i was most proud when Ryan officially finished his Eagle. He went for his final interview with the scout board and passed the interrogation. When he was asked who his main inspiration was he said"my dad". I am Glad he has a dad who inspires him and teaches him all that he does. Hopefully we can schedule his court of honor to be held with in the next month!!
